There are many people that really struggle when trying to find something to sell on eBay. Here's some eBay selling tips to show you how to make money on eBay.
A lot of people start off by selling their unwanted gifts and stuff lying around the house. This is fine until you run out of things to sell. Once this happens you're going to need more stock to keep this gravy train on track.
Here's What I Do.
I sell information products on CD/DVD. Let me explain why I do this and how I'm able to make a full time living just by selling these types of products.
1. I research eBay for the most popular searched for items. For this I use a tool called eBay pulse. This basically shows me what the most searched for items are in each and every category. This is marketing intel gold. This will give you a guideline of what to write about later on. Don't just come across the first category and choose a topic from there. You have the ability to drill down further still to find a rabid niche market with their credit cards at the ready.
2. I'll give you an example. I searched under the category cameras and photos and found a nice list of 10 most searched for items. You had the usual Nikon brand and canon etc. Listed at number 9 on that list was something called a Hasselblad which is a brand name I'd never heard of. I decided to do some more digging by visiting a few of these auctions only to find that these people were spending on average $1500 on cameras and assessories.
3. This is a niche market where people are buying in large quantities. In order to write about this, I type "Hasselblad Cameras" into Google to find out more about them so that I can write a "How to get more out of your Hasselblad camera" or " How to take great shots with your Hasselblad Camera" eBook. Can you see what I've done here. I've found a niche market where the selling price is high and based my topic on helping the purchaser once they've purchased their camera.
4. I then set about to write my eBook with the information I've taken from the net (rewritten in my own words) and then add some affiliate links scattered throughout my eBook. Now, if you don't know what an affiliate link is, it's a link that goes back to a someone else's product or website. They pay a commission for every sale made there and in turn reward me with a share in the profit. So not only are you making money from the sale of eBook burned to CD, you're also making money on what we call the back end. This is similar to buying a cheap new printer but paying over the top for printer ink. The printer is the front end and the ink is the back end.
Some eBay Selling Tips:
* Always use plenty of keywords when you're listing your item. There is a tool for this which is readily available in the link below.
* Make sure your auctions end at the right time. I generally have my auctions finish on a Sunday night. This means that my auction listing is displayed ALL weekend (the busiest bidding time) and finishes when there's the most people looking on eBay.
* If you're in a niche market you can afford to place a high "Buy It Now" price on your item. If it's more competitive, start the auction really low (even a dollar) and invite lots of bids on it. People are like sheep and will be attracted to the auction just because it's getting so much interest.

There are very few people that use this technique and I'll probably get blasted in the forums for revealing this. Every so often, websites like Amazon want to shift stock that hasn't shifted as well as they thought it would and now offer these through "special offers". These items have anything from 50 - 75% off the listed price. These are the exact same items we're going to buy and sell on eBay. Don't believe me, go ahead and take a look for yourself.

I don't know, for some reason the buying decision has already been made by the time they arrive at eBay and my stats show that they're only on the auction for a matter of seconds before they click the "buy" button. People often wonder what the correct way or the right steps are to help them in make money on e bay: the non bogus version. Let's take a look.
I'll show you first how I make money on eBay.
1. I list several low priced eBooks on very popular topics. For topic ideas I use eBay's very own tool called eBay pulse. At this point I don't see any need to reinvent the wheel and only promote topics I already know are selling pretty well.
2. I either write the eBooks myself or I'll sell a resale right product that someone else has written. Either way, I have full control of what that person reads and the affiliate links they'll click on within that eBook. Don't know what an affiliate link is? This is a link back to high priced product where I'll share the commission if my client purchases it.
3. The low priced eBook is way of getting a new client without there being a lot of heavy risk on their side. To be fair the eBooks are quite basic and only really give the client a taste of information on that subject.
4. The idea is to promote a higher priced product within the basic one you've just sold them and then profit from any affiliate sales that may arise.
5. It's a numbers game, but a game that works very well. For example, if you promote products from the weight loss category or get rid of acne category it's very easy to up-sell (sell a higher priced item off the back of a low level entry item).
Many new eBay sellers start out selling their old junk on eBay and have a bit of success and then apply the same logic to selling new items by they've bought wholesale. I've got some news for them. In today's eBay world it's increasingly difficult to make money this way as the competition is fierce and you need to buy a boat load of stuff just to get your average wholesale price to a level where you can compete with the big boys. There's an easier way.
Sell Information Products
By selling information products, from the get go your product costs are super low. In effect the price of a CD? DVD and if you've written the eBook yourself then it's just your time that you've sacrificed. Do you see the difference. You're basically leveraging your own time to make money, promoting products you already know are selling into a hungry marketplace.
As I mentioned before, you're probably best to do your research first on something like eBay pulse to find out where the hungry markets are and where people aren't afraid to get their credit cards out!
